Poetry with Friends goes from strength to strength. Poetry with Friends or PWF as we in the know call it, has been running for almost two years, first in North Shields and now in Whitley Bay.
Poetry with Friends is a group of local folk who gather to appreciate poetry. We meet fortnightly on Tuesday evenings and Thursday mornings. Some of us attend both groups. We have regulars, occasional visitors and we always welcome newcomers.
Our next session is this coming Thursday at Whitley Bay’s library. The session runs from 11 am to 1pm and the theme is “Names.” You might want to choose a name of a person or a place but if you’re new to the group then please prebook by emailing my Poetry with Friends partner in crime, artist Gail Curry: gail@happyplanetcreativearts.org.uk
Bring along a couple of your favourite poems to share with friendly, like-minded locals. If you don’t feel like reading aloud then I’ll read for you.
