Description

Svetislav Stefanovich (1877-1944) was a poet, critic, translator, essayist, drama writer and doctor. He was founder of the Department of Pathology and President and founder of the Yugoslav Medical Association. Stefanovich participated in the Balkan Wars and the First World War and was decorated several times. During WW2 he was accused of defamation of the Soviet authorities and in 1944 was shot as an enemy of the people and a war criminal.  This item includes an English copy copy of Stefanovich’s Hennil and Other Poems translated from Serbian and published in Belgrade in 1933 plus one of his  10.5cm by 6.5cm business cards inscribed “with the compliments of the author.Condition: There is loss to the rever cover of the book plus uniform browning of pages.
